Optimistic

I am choosing to be optimistic. I put on the Fall Leaves tablecloth and the sun is out, even though it’s mighty windy out. I feel for the livestock, especially for those in areas getting the worst of this storm.

The 🌞 is out & the snow is beginning to melt.

My Dad’s aunt’s daughter, her husband, and mother-in-law, swung in for a visit. It’s always interesting to meet Gietzen relatives.

Linda, Catherine, Beth Ann, myself, and Grandma Mary. Beth Ann is a teacher, her mother was a teacher, Grandma Mary was a teacher, I am sensing a recurring theme here 🧐

On the house side of things…a line was trenched today. Everyone is scurrying to get outside work done before 🌨️

Peppers, tomatoes, & chicken pot pie!

With accumulating snow in the forecast for this week, we gathered all of the tomatoes and peppers from the garden tonight.

Our unripened tomatoes; next spring we’re planning on starting the tomatoes a month earlier. If anybody reading this has friends or they themselves believe that God is dead or doesn’t exist they should come and see what a neglected little garden can produce! Production like that can only come from a good Creator.

He and I are going to miss the garden….he’s my little garden Buddy.

Grandma Anh loves peppers, so we shared our pepper crop with her.

Andrew never ceases to amaze me…he took a rooster that Grandpa Russell & Simon butchered and made a tasty chicken pot pie! His pie crust must be as yummy as any award winning crust!

Fun storytime project (caterpillars, butterflies, & birds) and I love seeing Ignatius’ personality blossom. What a process… pregnancy, newborn, infant, toddler, & now shining personality…life is beautiful! Ambrose is now one of the serious big kids…he works hard to do well on the projects.

Pleasant Sunday & Harvest Prayers

What a pleasant quiet Sunday… Andrew & the Boys even got time to tinker in the garage after Mass. Simon is quite proud that he and daddy built him a workbench.

This husband is always a bit happier when his garage is nicely organized. I’m sure everyone’s husband is that way.

This sudan grass still needs to be cut, as well as 60 acres of prairie grass and the marsh. We’re getting to the point where we could use some prayers in order to get all of our hay cut, baled, and hauled. The weather this fall has made it challenging to get this done in a timely fashion.

Fargo Friends

Good food with a Good Friend!

Few things cheer my soul faster than good food shared with a wonderful friend & my family! My mother-in-law made her children beautiful Christmas stockings and I had every intention to do the same, but never got around to it. My dear friend, Marie, made all of my children + me and now my husband, Christmas stockings to be hung in our house. We are blessed by her friendship.
