Chore Date

Grandpa needed a distraction from his sorrow, so Andrew and I went on a chore date, and he offered to babysit the three littles for us.

Loading the corn.
My sweetheart.
Here they come.
Feeding the corn.
Fun to see them line up.
Salt & Mineral bunk.
Loaded up and ready to roll.
Gathering the strings.
Feeding Hay with the Gator & Pick & Roll.
Chore Mates.
It’s good to have friends in time of sorrow.
Had to say safe travels and Godspeed to Aunt Lang on Monday afternoon.

Comfort

I am not sure where to begin to say thank you to all of those who have brought comfort and prayers to our family. Andrew and I have not needed to cook a meal in the last 4 days. So much generosity and love we have felt.  The All Night Vigil was so powerful!  The flowers made the funeral beautiful.  Thank you dear friends and loved ones!

Mom’s sister was able to attend the funeral! Thank you Medora for helping make that happen. She has brought so much comfort to all of us, it is so nice that she was able to be here for her sister.
My 3-4 am vigil hour with God, Mom, and Andrew will forever be etched in my mind. So powerful! So holy! So good!
Mom’s Family. Are you able to tell she loved babies and taught her children to also love and respect life? She knew what was most important in this world and in the next.
Mom heading to her final resting place.
Being able to walk with her was so powerful!
Burial. Mother was buried by those who loved her.
Corporal Work of Mercy: Bury the deceased. Everyone was given a chance to help Mom attain her final resting place.
Happy Memories 💛🤍💛

Mother

My mother passed to her eternal rest tonight at 9:50 pm.  Fr. Gary Benz gave her, her Last Rites & Apostolic Pardon at 7:30 pm.  Andrew, the children, my Dad and I finished the Rosary at approximately 8:30 pm.  My Mother was gifted the Happy Death she prayed for.  Miss you Mom, put in some good words for us.

Eternal rest grant unto HER, O Lord,

and let perpetual light shine upon HER.

May the souls of all the faithful departed,

through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

~Amen~

Warm Up

We’ve had fairly pleasant weather all week.  It has been very busy, juggling and getting everything done well, but we’re succeeding!

We turned off the Christmas lights this week.
We’ve had a couple parts break on two of our wells, thank goodness Andrew has an engineer mind.
Off to gather eggs.
Little Miss Independent, now that she’s two, she dresses herself, she’s totally fine wearing Daddy’s hat and Big brother’s gloves even though they don’t fit! Ain’t no one going to tell her otherwise. I like the confidence & independence that she is learning, Andrew and I will have to learn to make sure she knows however that every day in her life she needs to be working for a Higher Power… Confidence & Independence are excellent as long as they’re harnessed to God’s Will.
Mr. Smiley 😄
Off to feed the cows!
My Aunt Mary Kay passed away last night, please pray for the repose of her soul.
I love, love it when I see Andrew and any of our children working together on the farm. I know it provides an opportunity for them to bond, the children to ask advice, questions about life, etc. Here they are feeding a bale of hay to the heifers.

Bone chilling 🥶

Keeping the cattle happy, the chicken’s laying eggs, and all of the outdoor beings as cozy as possible proves to be a challenge in these frigid temperatures.

The children and I went to check the water for the cattle on Monday, it was frozen over, Andrew has figured out how to get it thawed out and going again. The tank heater kept tripping the power source.
Church Christmas program.
My uncle signed our family up to receive a catalog for these courses…I signed up for a course.
Thank you so much for the kind words in the Christmas cards, it’s rewarding to hear that many of you enjoy keeping up on the blog, and find it entertaining, sometimes even educational… I promised the children I would be on my smartphone less this year which means I probably won’t be updating it as frequently as I had been, but I do think they’ll be fine with a “weeklyish” update.
Happy Baptism of Our Lord ❤️

2022

“You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.”- C.S. Lewis

We hosted a party for those who have helped us in the last year… some were unable to attend due to illnesses or other plans but the ones who were able to make it helped make it a pleasant evening.
Our meatball roller.
He helped Dad make a delicious side dish involving pumpkin and rice.
Apple, cranberry, ginger ale punch.
Beef short ribs.
Apron on, ready to cook.
Master chef.
