Such precious days!
A busy start to our Memorial Day weekend!
The boys decided on the name Twinkle for the new filly. Her dame is Star. So I thought that was fitting 🙂
Star had a baby filly!
A couple of potatoes popped up.

It’s raining today. That’s good. We had a rough day with the cow herd. After a wonderful streak of tagging 6 to 9 healthy calves every day since April 24th, we had the misfortune of losing 3 calves in the last couple days. Two were unexplained deaths and one was deformed. We were having such a fantastic run with the majority of our herd calving in 18 days. We have approximately 30 head to calve out still and the calving is starting to slow, tagged just one calf yesterday. Hoping we can wrap up the calving season without anymore losses. The cloudy, gloomy weather just adds to the sad losses found today. The rain is much needed though.
We aren’t able to throw Grandma a big party today, I’m so happy there was a big party for her 90th birthday. Happy 95th birthday, Grandma! I always thought 100 was a nice round number; good goal to aim for 😉
The Most Important Person on earth is a mother. She cannot claim the honor of having built Notre Dame Cathedral. She need not. She has built something more magnificent than any cathedral—a dwelling for an immortal soul, the tiny perfection of her baby’s body…The angels have not been blessed with such a grace. They cannot share in God’s creative miracle to bring new saints to Heaven. Only a human mother can. Mothers are closer to God the Creator than any other creature; God joins forces with mothers in performing this act of creation… What on God’s good earth is more glorious than this: to be a mother? —Venerable Joseph Cardinal Mindszenty |
