Merry Christmas! 🎄

Our sweet neighbor and I were able to set up the creche in the church, we did decide that next year if it’s 30 below wind-chill, we’re turning the heat on or will set it up when the heat turns on Saturday evenings .  I think I will be taking a technology fast in order to enjoy this precious time with my husband, children and all of our guests this Christmas.  I wish you all a very Merry Christmas!  May you find wonder and Joy in the chubby little Babe born in the humblest of beginnings to the Most Pure Virgin, a Most Chaste Foster Father and know of His & His Father’s Great Love for You!  Merry Christmas! 💒🎄🎵

Christmas Concert

We still do not have a music/band teacher, but the two dedicated long term substitute teachers did a nice job of putting on a concert with the students.

Simon and the 4th graders playing their recorders.
Andrew and the children made Yum Yums!
Christmas platters for neighbors.
A Mom handed out this fun little sled. Crafty!🛷
Fun gifts.
Making of Christmas treats continues…

O Antiphons- Wisdom!

A great Children’s book for this holy season! Thank you Marie!

Quote of the Day

“And I saw that truly nothing happens by accident or luck, but everything by God’s wise providence … for matters that have been in God’s foreseeing wisdom, since before time began, befall us suddenly, all unawares; and so in our blindness and ignorance we say that this is accident or luck, but to our Lord God it is not so.”

–St. Juliana of Norwich

Today’s Meditation

“Love, by its essence, involves a leap into the unknown, a death to oneself, because genuine love is a love that loves to the end. And to love to the end means to die for those whom you love. It also means to forgive them. This involves the experience, one day or another, of the Cross and, therefore of sacrifice, which will seal the spouses’ unity definitively.”

—Robert Cardinal Sarah, p.25 Couples, Awaken Your Love

Cookie platters for the teachers…the children did a great job helping prepare this gift.
Homemade Fudge.

Singing that Cattle Call🎶

The cattle decided to take advantage of the snow and help themselves to some hay…so we had a family fence fixing date… which mostly consisted of us watching Daddy fix fence while Grandpa and Simon fed the cows.
Daddy & Ambrose walking the electric ⚡ line, “beefing” it up so that the beef cows stay where they are supposed to.

Days 1 – 4

Morning of Day 4.
Approximate 7 foot bank.
Grandpa & Daddy starting the great “dig out.” The boys headed out to chores… everyone goes in pairs because it’s easy to get bogged down in this deep snow.
& just like that the sun popped out and Mother Nature is pretending like nothing happened. Nice try Mother Nature, but we do appreciate the break in snow and wind, as do the livestock! Continuing to praise God for technology and tractors with cabs and snowblowers!!!

Snow, Snow, Snow❄️

This is the third snow day and by the sound of it, looks like it will continue tomorrow.

Daddy and Iggy went to get a tree on Monday, it was the nicest tree on the lot (the last one), and the seller told Andrew he just couldn’t charge him. It’s a scraggly tree, but the children still enjoyed decorating O’ Tannenbaum🎶.

Ready to make cut out cookies!

Happy Feast of St. Lucy!🕯️

Our early morning Lucy ❤️🕯️(Did you catch on to Andrew’s humor?)
Patron Saint of the Blind, Eye Problems. (https://www.catholic.org/saints/saint.php?saint_id=75)
They love this daily puzzle. They work together and are so pleasant right away in the morning (today is a snow day.)

Today’s Meditation

“Write: I am Thrice Holy, and I detest the smallest sin. I cannot love a soul which is stained with sin; but when it repents, there is no limit to My generosity toward it. My mercy embraces and justifies it. With My mercy, I pursue sinners along all their paths, and My Heart rejoices when they return to Me. I forget the bitterness with which they fed My Heart and rejoice at their return. Tell sinners that no one shall escape My Hand; if they run away from My Merciful Heart, they will fall into My Just Hands. Tell sinners that I am always waiting for them, that I listen intently to the beating of their heart . . . when will it beat for Me?”
—Jesus to St. Maria Faustina, 1728

Feed

We ordered a large truck of feed.  There goes our chance of a winter getaway.  Change my attitude, right?  Thank you God for all of our blessings!!!

Quote of the Day
“When you sit down to eat, pray. When you eat bread, do so thanking Him for being so generous to you. If you drink wine, be mindful of Him who has given it to you for your pleasure and as a relief in sickness. When you dress, thank Him for His kindness in providing you with clothes. When you look at the sky and the beauty of the stars, throw yourself at God’s feet and adore Him who in His wisdom has arranged things in this way. Similarly, when the sun goes down and when it rises, when you are asleep or awake, give thanks to God, who created and arranged all things for your benefit, to have you know, love and praise their Creator.”
–St. Basil the Great
My Sweet Love spent the early part of the morning setting up the augers and preparing the bin.
These tracks were noticed by Dad and Simon, they said it’s pheasant tracks and the marks there are the wings of the pheasants as they take off…these were noticed by the duck/goose coop.
Hanging Christmas Lights. Christ is the light of the world! O Come, O Come Emmanuel 🎶

Tonight we are planning to do….Nothing!!!😇

Ballet 🩰

We attended the Nutcracker last night.  When the opportunity arises we like to show the children culture outside of agriculture.  The children were mesmerized.  We had 3 event staff come up and compliment us for well behaved children.  I didn’t have time to tell them that I’m convinced that most of that comes from no screen time outside of family screen time. Wean children off of television, ipads, phones, etc and their attention and awe of the world soars!!!

Makes for late nights catching ‘the arts,’ but so worth it. He made it this far on the way to bed.🥰
This was sent to me yesterday, made me giggle.
