Buttercup Squash Anyone?

I am pretty proud of this little fellow! Without any prompting from his mother or father he harvested all of the buttercup squash and pumpkins and then donated some of them to the food pantry in Glen Ullin. I think if he continues on this trail, wherever he settles in life, that area will be lucky to have him.
Do not try this at home, be sure to have professional help available.
I asked him what sort of brake system he had available since he wasn’t using shafts, the reply was, well Dad was there. I asked the Dad, what his plan was if the pony started bucking or if the wagon rolled into the pony, his reply is, “well it did happen.” ๐Ÿคฆ. We’ve got lots of learning to do in the horse training business. We also need to get a pony cart or wagon or sleigh. Would be a good idea for Grandpa to give us some driving lessons if we’re going to go into the driving business.

4th Drive, moving the Heifers

We combined the heifers with the herd last evening.ย  Then Andrew and the two oldest boys dug some potatoes, while we hauled the remaining bales out of the Marsh.ย  It was well past dark when we all finished, but success is a great feeling! Now we can say …”let it rain, let it pour”… ๐ŸŒง๏ธ please fill up the Stock dams!

We had a very, very kind neighbor cut the Marsh for us, we’ve been working non-stop for the last 3 days on baling it, raking some of it, and hauling all of the bales out of there before the rain came this morning.
My weekday job! Wouldn’t trade it for the world. These three bring me so much joy, just hope I don’t spoil them too much.
I love how Andrew can think how to incorporate vegetables into breakfast. He used a bell pepper, fried up an egg and put one of our Golden Boy tomatoes on top. So tasty!๐Ÿ˜‹

3rd Move

The pasture we were in, we were hauling water three times a day. Each trip took approximately 1 hour and a half.ย  Last night, Don, Denyka, and Jason helped us move them across the road.

Thirsty cattle.
Moving them across to a pasture with water.
Simon got a whole gallon of potatoes out of one plant! They are perfectly clean it is so dry. Hopefully we can get them harvested before they get muddy or frozen. I just need to learn how to bilocate.

Garden Harvester

Thank God this fellow was born in to this family, if he wasn’t, the produce would just sit in the garden.  We’re meeting ourselves coming and going these days.

Those Golden Boy tomatoes are so delicious!
Pumpkins were the theme at Storytime!๐ŸŽƒ
My third graders are so sweet in religious education. They are so fun to teach! Even with two additional “helpers” today, they did so well.
My little water hauling buddy๐Ÿ’œ
