Happy All Saints Day!✝️

We started this little tradition last year on all Saints Day going around and gathering our saint statues, nightlights and holy water fonts. It’s a good reminder of all of the heavenly intercessors we have that intercede for us in our daily lives and/or in our time of need.

Good ‘ol Cowboy Don helped me move the herd on Tuesday to their 2nd to last pasture for the year.
In their new pasture with feed up to their chests.
They enjoyed decorating gourds.
Monday’s egg collection crew.
They all had to move up a size or two on their winter outdoor clothing.
They made a snowman at the Jacobson grandparents’ house.
Enjoyed a visit from one of the Greatest!
Andrew brought home a used family minivan last night, we’re looking forward to the roominess on our next long trip.
Our neighbor is replacing a rusted out culvert that leads in to the church yard. God bless him!
Watching as the crew heads out for chores.
Helping me keep the mudroom clean.
An article sent to me by a Fargo friend…old, but still interesting. I’ve seen it from the highway, but haven’t driven up to it.
Happy Halloween 🎃

❄️

I’m not sure if I’ll ever get excited about snow falling before December 23 but being around the young ones and seeing their excitement over the first snowfall, is pretty fun to see❄️

The chickens are questioning this white, fluffy stuff.

A reading from the Book of Tobit

On their wedding night Tobiah arose from bed and said to his wife, “Sister, get up. Let us pray and beg  our Lord to have mercy on us and to grant us  deliverance.” Sarah got up, and they started to pray and beg that deliverance might be theirs. They began with these words:

“Blessed are you, O God of our fathers; praised be your name forever and ever. Let the heavens and  all your creation praise you forever. You made Adam and you gave him his wife Eve to be his help and support; and from these two the human race descended. You said, ‘It is not good for the man to  be alone; let us make him a partner like himself.’  Now, Lord, you know that I take this wife of mine not because of lust, but for a noble purpose. Call down your mercy on me and on her, and allow us to live together to a happy old age.”

They said together, “Amen, amen.”

Snow🌨️

We received enough snow to have to shovel the deck.  The heifers are still missing their mamas, but they are adjusting.

The good old loader tractor bringing a bale to the heifers.
Early morning deck clearing.

Weaning Heifers

Today we are weaning heifers, steers will be weaned in a couple of weeks.  Got our first dusting of snow this morning.

We appreciate Don, Tracy, Chelsea, Priscilla, and Tiffany for helping out!
Don patiently waiting to load.
This little turnip eating Miss decided to stand by herself yesterday. One would have thought the brothers won the lottery by the way they cheered for her.
Our oldest is now reading chapter books, the little brothers love listening to him.
A mug of hot chocolate is well deserved after working in this cold.
