Preparation

Reading 1 Jas 1:12-18

Blessed is he who perseveres in temptation,
for when he has been proven he will receive the crown of life
that he promised to those who love him.
No one experiencing temptation should say,
“I am being tempted by God”;
for God is not subject to temptation to evil,
and he himself tempts no one.
Rather, each person is tempted when lured and enticed by his desire.
Then desire conceives and brings forth sin,
and when sin reaches maturity it gives birth to death.

Do not be deceived, my beloved brothers and sisters:
all good giving and every perfect gift is from above,
coming down from the Father of lights,
with whom there is no alteration or shadow caused by change.
He willed to give us birth by the word of truth
that we may be a kind of first fruits of his creatures.

Quote of the Day
“The Lord manifests Himself to those who stop for some time in peace and humility of heart. If you look in murky and turbulent waters, you cannot see the reflection of your face. If you want to see the face of Christ, stop and collect your thoughts in silence, and close the door of your soul to the noise of external things.”
โ€“St. Anthony of Padua
Today’s Meditation
โ€œGodโ€™s delays are mysterious; sorrow is sometimes prolonged for the same reason for which it is sent. God may abstain for the moment from healing, not because Love does not love, but because Love never stops loving, and a greater good is to come from the woe. Heavenโ€™s clock is different from ours.โ€
โ€”Fulton J. Sheen, p. 357

Snuck Great Grandma a “Fat Tuesday” treat! So fun to see a 7 month old gaze in to a 98 year old’s eyes…they understand each other.๐Ÿ’–

Tractor

Our tractor is back from the tractor doctor, we sure missed it when it was -68 wind-chill but will appreciate it if we get more snow. It basically had an overhaul.

“Green” cattle eating stored forage without an ounce of diesel used! It’s been very foggy these last few days.

Timely

Quote of the Day

“Think well. Speak well. Do well. These three things, through the mercy of God, will make a man go to Heaven.”โ€“St. Camillus

Today’s Meditation:

โ€œJesus will turn your sorrow into joy. One can only imagine the shock and bewilderment the Apostles felt when the Lord told them he must go away. Though they could not understand it at the time, his departure was for their benefit. The same is true of the unexpected setbacks and tragedies we experience in this life . . . When I consider the times when I have been confounded by events that seemed so contrary to what I thought God wanted for me, I should be mindful that they were permitted by the Lordโ€™s inscrutable providence for my own good, as difficult as that might be to fathom.โ€โ€”Patrick Madrid, p. 251

Patience

Due to our Baby needing medical attention, she and I were away from home for a few days.ย  Andrew, the children, and Grandpa did a great job holding down the fort and making sure life went on smoothly.

Helping Daddy with early morning chores, it was foggy.
Inside chore time. ๐Ÿ˜‚
Happy to be heading home.
