Today we are weaning heifers, steers will be weaned in a couple of weeks. Got our first dusting of snow this morning.






This fence was built in 1983, so today Grandpa, Grandma, Mary, and I had some “stitch in time” work to do before weaning.








Grandpa’s been cleaning our weaning corrals. Uncle Peter came over with his skidsteer today to do the “fine-tuning” work.
















Thanks to the help of my wonderful niece, we were able to attend the banquet fundraiser for the NDSU Newman Center.


Today, we sauced the tomatoes. I’ll be honest, the garden does not make us money, and the amount of time and work that’s put into preparing, planting, weeding, harvesting, sorting, just adds to the work load. But, the food it produces is so delicious!







These two lucky little ones were able to see their Godmothers today.




Andrew worked on his horse training skills this afternoon despite the strong wind!



I think the neatest part about this ranching way of life, besides it involving the whole family, is meeting new people almost every job.


2nd cattle drive before noon.





Life leaves nothing to complain about when one is married to a bright engineering, chef, farmer/rancher, musician. I hit the jackpot ❤️
