Power Outage

I so appreciate Andrew’s understanding of electricity and all of its intricacies especially when the beautiful frost we’ve had starts taking down lines and he has the ability to hook up the new generator.ย  The crews were pulled tonight for safety, but hopefully in the morning they are able to fire things up.

11:03 am…still no power, having to do work the old school way… manual labor.
Chore time!
Fairly nice out today, thank goodness!
Good little workers, keeping the snow cleared!

Spikes

I’ve lost count of days with frost with no wind…our power did flicker today, the lines must be getting heavy.

The chain on the gate on the way to feed the herd.
Grandpa asked us to help with a Memorial meal for Grandma since that’s a Vietnamese tradition. She passed away one year ago yesterday.

Andrew prepared tasty pho with vegetables & jasmine tea, and helped me with horsd’ouvers, fried rice, egg rolls, and wontons.

Om pa pa ๐Ÿช—

There’s an accordion in the house!ย  A yearish ago my beloved mentioned to me that he would like an accordion.ย  I figured that’s a great birthday present.ย  Grandpa started looking locally, but no one wanted to part with theirs, so I had to look clear across the nation to find one.ย  If you visit, bring your dancing shoes!ย ย

Chores with my favorite human being!โค๏ธ

Free Will

Quote of the Day

“And above all, be on your guard not to want to get anything done by force, because God has given free will to everyone and wants to force no one, but only proposes, invites and counsels.”

โ€“St. Angela Merici

Frost

When out with the cattle yesterday, the frost was magnificent.

Sun kissed treesโ„๏ธ๐ŸŒž. A good morning, hello!
Quote of the Day
“If you learn everything except Christ, you learn nothing. If you learn nothing except Christ, you learn everything.”
โ€“St. Bonaventure

God’s Christmas Gift

God gifted Andrew and I a most miraculous treasure!  We’re so in love with our little one!  Life begins at Conception!  Life is Beautiful!  All looks healthy and well, please pray for us to have a healthy pregnancy and Baby.

Due early July!

On my drive down to my OB appointment Fr. John Riccardo was on the Real Presence Radio.ย  Very inspiring!ย ย

Thought Provoking

A Kind and Gentle Shepherdย

Today the funeral of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI will take place in St. Peterโ€™s Square in Rome. To honor the late Pope, a man whose last words were, โ€œLord, I love you!โ€ below are some of his most inspiring and meaningful quotes.

May they encourage you, as they have encouraged us, to seek a deep and eternal friendship with Jesus Christ.

– The Dynamic Catholic Team

“We are not some casual and meaningless product of evolution. Each of us is the result of a thought of God.โ€

“The world offers you comfort. But you were not made for comfort. You were made for greatness.”

“Evil draws its power from indecision and concern for what other people think.โ€

“It is when we attempt to avoid suffering by withdrawing from anything that might involve hurt, when we try to spare ourselves the effort and pain of pursuing truth, love, and goodness, that we drift into a life of emptiness, in which there may be almost no pain, but the dark sensation of meaninglessness and abandonment is all the greater.โ€

“Love is the only force capable of changing the heart of the human person and of all humanity, by making fruitful the relations between men and women, between rich and poor, between cultures and civilizations.”

“If we let Christ into our lives, we lose nothing, nothing, absolutely nothing of what makes life free, beautiful and great. No! Only in this friendship are the doors of life opened wide. Only in this friendship is the great potential of human existence truly revealed. Only in this friendship do we experience beauty and liberation.”

“If you follow the will of God, you know that in spite of all the terrible things that happen to you, you will never lose a final refuge. You know that the foundation of the world is love, so that even when no human being can or will help you, you may go on, trusting in the One that loves you.”

“Truth is not determined by a majority vote.”

“Seeing with the eyes of Christ, I can give to others much more than their outward necessities; I can give them the look of love which they crave.”

“To have Christian hope means to know about evil and yet to go to meet the future with confidence. The core of faith rests upon accepting being loved by God, and therefore to believe is to say Yes, not only to him, but to creation, to creatures, above all, to men, to try to see the image of God in each person and thereby to become a lover.”

Happy 2023!๐ŸŽ‰

Grandpa’s been under the weather, thank goodness he is well liked and has the cell numbers of people in high places so when the tire is accidentally torn off due to deep, hard packed, ice block snow, the problem is remedied by the tire man who likes Grandpa. Grandpa is kind. Kindness pays off. Out here we need each other.
Faith, Family, Food, & Fun! Sadly weather changed plans, then illness struck, so not all could attend, but the ones who were able to gather, made memories. Prayers for all those struggling with illness, maybe it’s just me, but this winter/fall seems more challenging than other years.
Andrew’s amazingly delicious prime rib.๐Ÿ˜‹
