“A friend is more to be longed for than the light; I speak of a genuine one. And wonder not: for it were better for us that the sun should be extinguished, than that we should be deprived of friends; better to live in darkness, than to be without friends.”

–St. John Chrysostom

I think I have stated this before, but in case I haven’t, my favorite thing about Family Farms is that we all get to work together, we are all an important part of the operation. We are all necessary, valued, and needed. This lifestyle makes for an attitude of gratitude. All for the glory of God! 💛💙❤️💛🧡💚
Fence down …I think it was 117 years old…now for the challenging part, putting up a new fence. Kind of neat to think that the fence that Andrew and I put in will be there probably 50 plus years after we are pushing up buffalo grass. This life is a cycle, a beautiful one when you ponder it. Do what you can, with what you have, with who you’re with, with as much as joy as possible, every day of your life. Life is short…play, pray, and work hard! 😁🙏🤠🌻
Food for thought:

“Marriage releases the flesh from its individual selfishness for the service of the family; the vow of chastity releases the flesh not only from the narrow and circumscribed family, where there can still be selfishness, but also for the service of that family that embraces all humanity. That is why the Church asks those who consecrate themselves to the redemption of the world to take a vow and to surrender all selfishness, that they may belong to no one family and yet belong to all. That is why in that larger family of the kingdom of God, the priest is called “Father” —because he has begotten children not in the flesh, but in the spirit.”
—Venerable Fulton Sheen, p. 117
