Our Godson

Fall 🍁 Festival is going on and we were able to go see the Bluestems.  Next weekend our Godson and his Sisters will be competing in Kansas, say a small prayer for them.  They definitely put in the time to provide,”culture” for us out here.

One of the inspirational ideas from a book I read encouraged a person placing spiritual reading books around ones house so that if one starts to “slump” or “drift” from Christ, it would be easy to grab a good book and find inspiration to readily take up One’s Cross and Carry On. Here are 3 I have readily available.

Out In The Fields With God

The little cares that fretted me,

I lost them yesterday

Among the fields above the sea,

     Among the winds at play;

Among the lowing of the herds,

     The rustling of the trees,

Among the singing of the birds,

     The humming of the bees.

The foolish fears of what may happen,

     I cast them all away

Among the clover-scented grass,

     Among the new-mown hay;

Among the husking of the corn

     Where drowsy poppies nod,

Where ill thoughts die and good are born

     Out in the fields with God.
