Anticipation

My sweets gave me this book for my birthday. I thought I would share part of the introduction… May anyone reading this have a truly blessed Advent… Christ the King Sunday is next Sunday the end of the liturgical year.

I’m looking forward to reading this book!

Sauerkraut and Fencing

Andrew canned the sauerkraut from the cabbage from our garden, now he’s out fencing the next pasture that we are moving to.

It was a strange morning with iced windows, some snow on the ground, and rain falling.

He’s been hauling the third load of water at midnight, he has a nice flashlight but has to hold it in his mouth, so I got him a headlamp. Do you think it’s bright enough?

Veteran’s Day ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฒ

Grandpa, my Dad, and my six uncles that were in the military on my father’s side. Mom’s Dad was a Captain and two of my brothers are in the military. I thank God for the Veterans and I’m grateful to those who’ve given the ultimate sacrifice… Uncle Gene is on the top row farthest on the right. (Photo credit: Mark Gietzen)

Professional Water Haulers

After this summer/fall, this Crew could probably be considered professional water haulers!

We’re up to three loads a day.
Thanking God for the good road to get to this pasture! Hopefully landowners consider putting in wells in their pastures if this drought continues.

Generous Neighbors

The neighbors’ grandchildren have outgrown this play set and they gave it to our children.

Thank you Don & Connie! By the joyful sounds you would think that Christmas came early!

Coming down the approach.
Here they come!

Frosty

It was 10 above this morning.ย  Happy All Souls Day!

Too chilly to play outside this morning.
Little Mr. Engineer? He loves building, looking at diagrams, asking questions, and has “stick with itness.”
Architect, maybe?
I’m pretty sure we have the best Parish Priest in North America. He loves his job and you can just tell he loves God. He went to each individual cemetery in his parish, said a prayer for all the folks buried there, and then went to each individual grave of relatives of those attending and said a special prayer. We are so incredibly blessed to have him! He leads by example, and is so authentic. He’s so full of joy, and yet he doesn’t mince words when there are problems that need to be addressed. He believes and lives what he preaches. May I, as a parent, learn to do the same.
